- No accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking.
- You choose every photo you share. FrameFib never browses your photo library.
- What you share in a game goes only to the players in your room.
Who we are
This policy covers the FrameFib iPhone app and the framefib.com website, both provided by FrameFib ("we", "us"). Questions? Email support@framefib.com.
What the app handles, and why
- Display name. The name you type when you create or join a room. It is shown to the other players in that room.
- Photos you choose. When it's your turn to tell a story, you pick one photo with Apple's photo picker. FrameFib only receives the photo you pick. Before anything is shared, it makes a smaller JPEG copy, removes location, EXIF, and comment metadata, and shows you a private preview. The copy is shared only after you confirm.
- Stories and votes. The true story, the fibs, and the votes that make up each round. Who wrote each story stays hidden until the reveal.
- Room identifiers. Random player IDs and private seat codes that let you reconnect to your seat. They aren't linked to your Apple Account, phone number, email, or real identity.
- Settings. Preferences such as appearance and haptics, stored on your device.
We use this information only to run your game. We don't sell it, share it for advertising, or build profiles.
Nearby games
In a nearby game, photos, display names, stories, and votes travel over encrypted connections between your iPhone and the host's iPhone. No FrameFib server is involved. The host's iPhone runs the room and keeps the game state until the game ends.
Online games
If you play an online game, those same items are sent over an encrypted connection to our game server, which runs on Google Cloud, so it can run your private room. The server keeps room data in memory only. It doesn't store photos in a permanent archive. Room data is deleted when the host ends the room, when the room expires (at most two hours after it is created), or if the server restarts.
To keep the service running and prevent abuse, the server briefly uses IP addresses in memory. Google, our hosting provider, keeps standard technical logs such as IP addresses, request times, and errors to operate and secure the service.
Stored on your device
So you can reconnect or reopen an interrupted game, FrameFib keeps an encrypted recovery record on your iPhone. Its encryption key stays in your device's Keychain, and the record is excluded from device backups. Leaving the room or tapping Clear Saved Game in Settings deletes it. FrameFib never changes or deletes the original photos in your library.
Camera and local network
The camera is used only to scan a friend's invitation QR code. Camera images are processed on your device and are never stored or sent. Local network access is used only to find and connect to nearby rooms.
Purchases
Any purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. The app checks your purchase status with Apple on your device.
What other players can see
Everyone in your room can see what you share, and they can take screenshots or photos of their screens. FrameFib can't prevent that. Share only photos you have permission to share and that you're comfortable showing everyone in the room. Never post invitations publicly.
Children
FrameFib is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- You decide which photo, if any, to share each turn.
- Delete local game data at any time by leaving the room, using Clear Saved Game, or deleting the app.
- We don't keep game content after a room ends and we have no accounts, so we generally hold no personal data about you to access or delete. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Contact us and we'll respond as required by law.
